Creative Advocacy for the Northern Territory’s Wild Places

Protecting our Environment
The Northern Territory is home to some of the most spectacular rivers, coasts, and marine ecosystems in the world. As a community campaigner and visual communicator, I’ve dedicated recent years to helping protect these places by creating new, innovative tools to engage the public—using my background in illustration, filmmaking, and outreach.
Visual Tools for Environmental Change
From designing infographics and petition kits to building interactive tools for outreach stalls, I’ve focused on translating complex environmental issues into engaging visuals that connect with people where they are—whether that’s in a market, on social media, or out fishing with mates. Visual storytelling cuts through the noise and helps turn passive support into real-world action.
Campaign Wins and Media Breakthroughs
I’ve had the humble privilege of contributing to some major conservation milestones in the Northern Territory. These include a bipartisan commitment to No New Dams on Free Flowing Rivers and a planned phase-out of commercial barramundi gillnets by 2028—historic wins for river health and marine biodiversity. I also produced a viral television ad featuring former gillnet fisherman Stan, who spoke on record for the first time about the devastating bycatch in the barramundi fishery. This powerful moment helped shift the public conversation and was widely shared online and across media platforms.

Campaigns I've worked on
Environment Centre NT – Rural Community Campaigner (2025)
In this role, I lead community outreach and volunteer mobilisation to build local opposition to industrial gas developments in Darwin Harbour.
Key contributions:
- Created eye-catching campaign visuals and hands-on engagement tools for market stalls and rural events
- Produced strategic social media content to increase campaign visibility
- Organised volunteers and expanded grassroots support in remote communities
Keep Top End Coasts Healthy – Community Campaigner (2023–Current)
This role connects conservation with culture and community. I’ve focused on building relationships within the recreational fishing community and Traditional Owners to protect the NT’s iconic coasts.
Key activities include:
- Working with influencers and local fishing identities to amplify our message
- Running petitions in tackle shops and community markets
- Designing infographics, shareables, and public-facing media
- Writing and producing TV and radio ads with local voices
Territory Rivers – Community Campaigner (2023–2024)
Focused on raising awareness about river health and water security, particularly around controversial proposals like water extraction for cotton expansion.
Highlights:
- Ran a rural film screening tour to bring the story of NT rivers to remote towns
- Partnered with Indigenous rangers and community leaders to share on-the-ground knowledge
- Produced outreach materials that made the science of water management accessible and visual
A New Way to Campaign
Too often, environmental messaging feels technical or remote. My approach is to meet people with creativity, clarity, and respect—whether they’re in a remote town or scrolling through Instagram. These campaigns are about more than awareness—they’re about empowerment, connection, and pride in the Territory’s natural heritage.
Want to Collaborate?
If you’re looking for fresh ideas on how to bring people into your campaign, I’m always keen to collaborate on visual content, outreach tools, and community events that spark real engagement. Let’s build momentum for a better future—together.
